Win your access to Circular Cultures, the international conference about circular design (Atenas)
We are looking for future leaders of the sustainable fashion sector able to create a positive shift in the industry. Following the success of previous calls in which innovative Spanish companies such as Sepiia, Royal Caballito and Now Then attended the Athens 2018 conference, we are pleased to open a new call for Circular Cultures, the international conference co-organised by the British Council and Onassis Culture and curated in collaboration with Centre for Circular Design, that will bring together designers, stakeholders and experts from the fashion sector from Spain, France and Greece (27-28 February). More than 10 international speakers will provide the most actual insights from the industry and will provide tools to deal with the circular design challenge. Between the panel of experts we are delighted to welcome Edwina Ehrman (Senior Curator at the Victoria & Albert museum), Carole Collet (Design for Sustainable Futures at Central Saint Martins), Marco Rendina (Europeana Fashion International Association), Seetal Solanki (Ma-tt-er) and many others.
This conference is aimed to explore the circular economy through the holistic lens of circular design; through creativity and social innovation. New recycled and recyclable materials provide us with novel ways to reduce waste and virgin resource use, but how can these materials also help with the quality of life for everyone scattered throughout these diverse supply chains? What do designers and businesses have to do differently to become circular? How will consumers wardrobe and purse be affected? What can we learn from the past to design a better (design / fashion) industry for the future?
