Rapid developments in artificial intelligence raises many questions, including the debate on the merits of studying a language when an application can offer instant translation.
This and other key issues around second language acquisition and artificial intelligence will be addressed in a moderated discussion between reknown experts, and organised by the British Council Spain and the Instituto Cervantes on Tuesday 13 February 2024 in Madrid.

"Artificial Intelligence and language teaching" is part of the series of conferences "Four challenges in foreign language teaching", organised by both institutions.
This conference series is co-delivered, following an agreement signed in November 2019. This Memorandum of Understanding aims to continue and strengthen the productive dialogue that Spain and the United Kingdom have nurtured for many years in the area of cultural diplomacy. It also involves a collaborative investigation of innovative approaches to address European agendas.
