Café Scientifique provides a framework for the public to engage in an informal and accessible debate on current scientific issues. These cafés scientifiques are part of a series on “Sustainable Cities” organised by the British Council and La Casa Encendida. In this new edition we are going to focus on “Urban Allotments Projects”.

6 November: Current Urban Allotments Projects

Speakers: Sarah Eberle, Member of the Landscape Institute, Society of Gardens Designers and Member of the Institute of Agriculture and Alberto Peralta, Member of the Huertos Urbanos de Madrid and Director of Humus Revolution.

7 November: Historical Urban Allotments

Speakers: Lesley Acton Savitz, Conservation & Cultural Heritage Consultant and Nerea Morán, Professor of Architecture at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and co-author of the book “Raíces en el asfalto”.

These cafés are part of the activities organized during Madrid Science Week
