The fifteenth edition of the Conference will be held in the city of Cádiz from 24th to 27th October during the Ibero-American Theatre Festival. The motto chosen for this edition is Spaces for identity. The talks, round tables and workshops that make up the Conference programme aim to generate a dialogue around the capacity of culture to visualize projects that show us different identities and help us understand ourselves and those around us.
The Conference will also host a European Meeting of General Directors of Performing Arts and Music, held within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, to share strategic lines of work on inclusion and accessibility. The meeting will include the presentation of Time To Act: Two Years On, a research report published by the British Council in the context of Europe Beyond Access, an ambitious 4-year programme designed to internationalise the careers of disabled artists and revolutionise Europe’s performing arts scene.
The core partners of the project were the British Council , Onassis Cultural Centre (Greece), Holland Dance Festival (The Netherlands), Kampnagel (Germany), Per.Art (Serbia), Skånes Dansteater (Sweden), and our partner in Trentino Oriente Occidente (Italy). EBA was co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
Time To Act: Two Years On reveals statistical information on the accessibility, inclusion, international mobility and professional development of artists with disabilities in the European performing arts sector, as well as the progress made in recent years.
