After more than a decade of being absent from The Royal Opera House’s stage, the timeless version of Cinderella directed by choreographer and founder of The Royal Opera House, Frederick Ashton, is back. On this occasion, the Royal Opera House and the National Ballet of Canada have joined efforts to coproduce this famous fary tale about, written by French author Charles Perrault, which tells the story about a young girl who suddenly transitions from poverty to glory.
Celebrate the 75th anniversary of this piece which combines Ashton’s musical dexterity with the beauty of Sergey Prokofiev’s transcendental compositions. Let the magic of theatre, cinema, dance and opera take you on a journey through a new Cinderella universe, populated by fairies and pumpkin carriages, with costums designed by Alexandra Byrne.
Thanks to its agreement with Versión Digital (exclusive distributor for Spain of the Royal Opera House’s cinema screenings from its London stage) and the Kinépolis (Madrid y Valencia) and Full (Barcelona) cinemas, the British Council is organising a draw of three free double tickets to see this magnificent production streaming live from the Royal Opera House’s stage on Wednesday, April 12th at 20.15h.
