Festival EÑE will celebrate its 15th edition with a unique programme: for the first time, it will expand its content, taking a leap from its characteristic literature in Spanish towards the European continent and its literary works. It does so with this year's theme Languages, with which it hopes to become a bridge between creators in Spain and the rest of the world.
From 14 October to 5 November, EÑE will be present in 30 different spaces with over 90 activities dedicated to literature, current topics and new audiences. The festival will take place in Madrid's main cultural venues and will extend, for its sixth consecutive year, throughout Málaga.
Thanks to its collaboration with the British Council, Spanish photographer Ignacio Evangelista and British author Chris Burkham will present EUROPA? on 18 October at 19:30 hs at the British Council's Madrid office. During the talk, Evangelista and Burkham will talk about this collaboration in which photography and fiction serve as tools to examine the experiences of modern, European immigrants.
On 27 October, the festival's programme will include several activities with renowned author and lawyer Phillippe Sands, known for defending Human Rights. You may find him at 17:00 hs at the Casa del Libro in Gran Vía to celebrate the emblematic space's centenary. At 18:30 hs he will continue the conversation at El invencible lenguaje de la ficción, a talk with Colombian writer Juan Gabriel Vásquez. The event will take place at the Teatro Fernando de Rojas in the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid.
It is in this way that the festival expands its borders and opens up its doors to the old continent it belongs to.
