On 21 and 22 of June the City Council of Málaga, FYCMA (Málaga Trade Fairs and Congress Centre) and the regional government of Andalucía will be hosting CM Málaga, one of the most prestigious international conferences of the year on digital disruption in museums. The programme includes the participation of outstanding experts and professionals from the field such as Chris Michaels, the Digital Director of the National Gallery (UK); Serge Lasvignes, President of the Center Pompidou in Paris; the Director of the Ars Electronica Center in Linz (Austria), Gerfried Stocker; Dean Phelus, Senior Director Leadership Program of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM); Marijke Smallegance, Head of Digital Marketing at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam or Peter Weibel, Director ZKM, Karlsruhe (Germany) among others.
This First Forum, curated by Rosina Gómez-Baeza and Lucía Ybarra (YGBART), will explore how technology can assist museums and cultural organisations in addressing sustainability, resource management, new museum operations and services, and their role in encouraging public engagement and a fruitful dialogue with the city. The discussions, presented and moderated by Ludovic Assémat, Head of Arts at the British Council in Spain, will cover the full spectrum of digital transformation: new forms of reality (3D, VR, AR...), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, immersive narratives, transformation of citizenship, tools for territorial and social sustainability, gamification, brand, architecture and social engagement...
