How inclusive is artistic programming? What are the barriers for inclusive companies and festivals? These and other questions will be the subject of reflection in this Conference organized within the framework of the Catalonia-UK Exchange programme in a collaboration between the MAC festival, Mercè Arts de Carrer, the Barcelona City Council, XTRAX, the ICEC (Catalan Institute of Cultural Companies) , Catalan Arts and the British Council.
The Conference aims to be a platform to exchange views about the realities in Catalonia and the UK in inclusive arts. A presentation of "Time to Act", an "On the Move" research report commissioned by the British Council in the context of the European project "Europe Beyond Access" will be followed by an introduction to a guide to accessibility in outdoor performing arts published by "Without Walls", a consortium of over 30 British arts festivals and organisations.
Also taking part will be leading professionals from the sector icluding Jordi Cortés, founder of the Liant la Troca dance-theater collective; Andrew Loretto, artistic director of the Hat Fair festival, (Winchester, United Kingdom); Rita Noutel, choreographer and dancer, member of the Yurdance company and Sho Shibata, executive producer of the company Stopgap, (UK).
