The multi-award-winning playwright and director, Anna Jordan, will be visiting Madrid as part of Read, Play, Meet, Repeat organized by Bella Batalla, Esto Podría Ser and El Pavón Teatro Kamikaze in collaboration with the British Council / New UK Drama.
Her works include among many other Yen, awarded in 2013 with the prestigious Bruntwood Prize and staged in numerous international productions (Manchester Royal Exchange, the Royal Court and MCC New York...)
After writing POP MUSIC for Paines Plow and The Unreturning for Frantic Assembly, she has adapted Mother Courage and His Sons by Bertolt Brecht.
As a director, she has directed, among others, the work of Jonathan Harvey, Tomorrow I'll Be Happy at the National Theatre Shed. She also runs her own company Without a Paddle Theatre.
She has a long experience as trainer in internationally renowned schools such as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Central, Arts Ed and Italy Conti. And she co-founded the Hackney Showroom Young Actors, a free one-week training course for young actors in Hackney (north-east London).
But Jordan does not solely work for the stage, she has also worked as a screenwriter for the small and big screen: Succession (HBO), Cluck (Little Brother Productions) and the movie The Ivory Year (LAMDA).
