Thanks to the collaboration between the British Council Spain and the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque de Madrid, Hollie McNish's recited poetry will be part of the centre's programme this month.
Hollie McNish is a British writer whose work has led her to become one of the most renowned poets in Europe right now. In 2017, she received the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry with her maternity memoir Nobody Told Me and, in 2022, her book Slug (and other things I’ve been told to hate) became a Sunday Times bestseller.
McNish is known for tackling innovative topics such as maternity or femininity in her works, which she also performs as Spoken Word. On 14 November at 20:30 hs, the author will share the stage with the North-American poet and performer Danez Smith. In a Double Bill exercise, they will perform their poems in the framework of the Festival internacional Poesía o Barbarie, organised by the Spanish collective Masquepalabras.
We are holding a draw for two free double tickets to attend this Spoken Word event at the Centro de Cultua Contemporánea Condeduque. Join the draw before 9 November at 23:59 CET and you may win one of them!
