Since its first edition in 2006, The Great Escape has managed to position itself as one of Europe's key emerging music festivals. Each year, it showcases 500 artists from all over the world in more than 30 venues accross the city of Brighton (UK). The festival has announced that Spain will be its lead country partner in its next edition, which will take place on 15-18 May.
The initiative will be led by The Spanish Wave, the Spanish talent internationalisation programme run by Live Nation España, the promoter of MAD COOL festival.The project is also supported by different public and private Spanish organisations which share a common goal: promoting emerging Spanish internationally. British Council Spain forms part of the diverse group of institutions behind this great partnership between both countries which will include 2 showcases with 8 Spanish artists, conference panels, industry parties and artist presentations.
As a taster for this musical event, on 18 April at 20:00 h there will be a presentation of the festival in Madrid at Intruso Bar (C/ de Augusto Figueroa 3) that will feature live music by SILA LUA (Spain) and NOAH & The Loners (UK). British Council is organising a draw to win one of 5 double tickets to attend this event. You may enter the draw until Monday, 15 April at 23:59 h (CEST). We will notify the lucky winners on 16 April. On 25 April, the Instituto Cervantes in London will host a similar presentation with a live set by Spanish artist and producer MAVICA.
