As part of its new season, the British Council is launching a program aimed at boosting professional exchanges in the creative industries sector, with special emphasis on the performing arts, the audiovisual sector, music and sustainable fashion. As part of the NEW UK DRAMA programme we are happy to invite to attend the following workshop:
POLITICS IN THE ROOM
Workshop around PALMYRA & EUROHOUSE – Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas
Total Theatre Award winners Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas, creators and performers of EUROHOUSE and PALMYRA, have developed a strong reputation in the UK for making original political theatre.
In this practical workshop based on their own practice, Bert and Nasi explore ideas around disagreement, frustration, hatred and reconciliation – particularly as these relate to contemporary society – using the stage as a space for artistic and political negotiation. There will be some discussions, some improvisation and some loud music. All with a view to giving an insight in how Bertrand and Nasi make their work.
You can see PALMYRA AND EUROHOUSE at the Teatre Lliure from the 19th to the 21st October. http://www.teatrelliure.com/en/schedule/all-shows/eurohouse-palmyra
