The world's widest-reaching digital celebration of LGBTIQ+ themed film is back!
Five Films for Freedom is a global, online short film programme in support of LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer) rights. We invite audiences everywhere to watch the five films online in solidarity with LGBTIQ+ communities in places where freedom and equal rights are limited, and to spread the word using the hashtag #FiveFilmsForFreedom.
This year’s programme showcases queer storytelling from India, Spain, Sweden, the USA, and the UK.
And we are celebrating it with a very special watch party on 23rd March at 7:00 p.m. (CET) with the participation of three prestigious guests. The Madrid photographer Gonza Gallego, who will talk to us about the aesthetics of desire which runs through his work; the Chilean film director, Ignacio Juricic, who will be talking about his work to raise awareness and visibility of the LGBTI + community in film; and the Argentine activist and artistic director based in Brazil, Natalia Mallo, who will explain the impact of the adaptation of "The Gospel According to Jesus, Queen of the Skies (Jo Clifford)" on the trans community and Brazilian society.
