The British Council in Spain is proud to announce the launch of #WeAreEquals – Music Academy, a training programme to the future leaders of electronic music. Its aim is to provide the participants with practical tools to help them develop their career towards to eventually become Ambassadors of Change contributing towards the achievement of greater gender equality and social diversity.
For this first edition the Music Academy will offer several training sessions in Madrid run by British and Spanish professionals over the months of June and July 2019. They will be joined by special guest artists from the British electronic music sector who will visit the Academy to share their personal experience in the field.
The most outstanding participants at the Music Academy will be offered the opportunity to perform along with their British mentors in a number of festivals taking place in Spain this year, including on one of the principle stages at the LGBT+ Pride festival in Madrid.
The training sessions will take place largely in English.
#WeAreEquals receives the support in Madrid of Brighter Sound, MIM (Mujeres en la industria de la música), Fundación SGAE, She Said So Spain, Muses, MADO Madrid, Paraíso Festival...

If your application is successful, the British Council will cover the cost of your training and provide logistic and technical support needed for the performances that the most outstanding participants of the Music Academy at major Spanish festivals.
