A unique opportunity to see world-class ballet and opera at a cinema near you!
Through an agreement with Versión Digital, the exclusive distributor for Spain of the Royal Opera House’s live screenings from its London stage, the British Council will organise three draws of 20 free double tickets during the 2021/2022 season to see some of the most acclaimed opera and ballet productions from this great British theatre in cinemas all over Spain.
On this occasion, the draw includes 20 free double tickets to attend live screenings of the dearly loved ballet "The Nutcracker" (Thursday, December 9 at 19.15h) as well as the magnificent opera "Tosca" (Wednesday, December 15 at 19.15h), both from the Royal Opera House in London.
Inspired by Lev Ivanov's choreography, this Royal Ballet production of “The Nutcracker” directed and choreographed by Peter Wright keeps true to the spirit of this Russian ballet classic and the many solo roles and ensembles show the world-class skills of the Company at its best. This production of “Tosca”, considered to be one of Puccini’s best and most popular operas, will be performed by a cast of internationally renowned soloists, directed by the distinguished British director Jonathan Kent and featuring the Royal Opera House's own orchestra and chorus conducted by the Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv.
The invitations will be available for cinemas in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Santander, Santiago de Compostela and Valencia. The deadline to participate in the draw is November 30 at 11:59 p.m. CET and we will get in touch with the lucky winners before December 3rd.
