Fashion for body diversity will be at the centre of the Disseny Hub in Barcelona from March 23rd to May 14th, 2023. All thanks to Sustainable Challenge, an annual programme created by MODA-FAD and committed to sustainability within the Fashion industry. Since its second edition, this innovative project has been organized in collaboration with the Design Manchester festival and the support of the city of Barcelona and the Disseny Hub. It also receives financial support from the British Council through its International Collaboration Grant programme.
The initiative celebrated its fourth edition in November 2022 with 30 Fashion students from Spain and the UK accepted the challenge to design contemplating body diversity, guided by professionals from the fashion industry. After three days of an intense marathon, each team of five students created a project for a model with a different body type. These included three types of body diversity: “Body Types” (big and small), “Physical Disabilities” (wheelchair and prothesis), and “Sensory Disability” (blindness and autism).
The exhibition is a result of Sustainable Challenge ’22 which aims to promote fashion as as a facilitating tool for social inclusion. Access to the exhibition is free. Don’t miss out!
