Located in a historical building in the capital, our campus, the headquarters of the British Council in Spain, is a cultural landmark of Madrid. From our main centre we promote the best of British arts, education and science, through events at which our students are the guests of honour.

Our Madrid campus has top-class facilities. In our light and airy classrooms with interactive whiteboards and the latest technology, your child will study in a dynamic cultural environment with classes tailored to their age group. 

English Extra - Much more than English classes

The best way to reinforce English learnt in class is by integrating it naturally into daily leisure activities. When you join the British Council, in addition to attending English classes which will help you achieve your goals, you will be able to enjoy a wide variety of services and activities free of charge, helping to to make the most of your academic and personal development. And of course when you register your child in a British Council centre, the whole family will also be able to enjoy a wide variety of complementary services and activities.

YOUNG LEARNERS LIBRARY

Our Young Learners Library, in the Young Learners building, has a wide range of materials arranged by level and age, so that your child can consolidate their English outside class.

Our expert librarians can recommend you the most suitable materials for your child.

How to pay

In the British Council we want to help you to access the best education for your child, and that's why we offer a range of discounts and payment methods.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO WE ACCEPT?

YOUNG LEARNERS
  • Cash deposit in our bank account or bank transfer.  Bank account in ES34 2100 9194 1222 0152 3000 de La Caixa (name: British Council). Payment receipt: send by email to cursos.madrid@britishcouncil.es or hand in to Customer Service, quoting the Student number if you know it.
  • Credit or debit cards (except American Express y Diners Club).
  • Cheque made out to the British Council.
  • Cash payments are not accepted.

DISCOUNTS

  • If three or more members of your family are registered in any British Council course in Madrid, you could benefit from a 5% discount on our courses.
  • If you buy the textbooks (where applicable) in your centre during the first week of term, you'll benefit from a special price.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

I'm an parent. What do I have to do to register my child?

If your child is aged between 7 - 17, and they have never studied with us before, you'll need to make an appointment for them to take a level test in the centre. You can make an appointment to do the level test here. Once you've done the level test, our Customer Services department will give you information about the courses and timetables available. Children aged 2 - 6 don't need to do a level test.

What are the benefits of being a student?

The benefits your child will get for being our student are:

  • membership of our Resource Centre, from where they can borrow material to use at home.
  • access to the student portal, an online tool with a variety of resources for your child to improve their English.
  • free access to our English Extra events and activities.

What happens if I decide to cancel the course?

If you decide to cancel before classes start, your money will be refunded except for 60 €  to cover our administrative costs. If you cancel after the course has started, your money will not be refunded.
